Let me tell you a little bit about why this course is so special...

Back some time ago, I began to question some of the conventional wisdom about hypnosis, hypnotherapy and related professions. You see, there's a lot of conflicting information out there.

I began to take a look at 2 areas of knowledge that apply to hypnosis but have been largely ignored in making the profession better.

Let's look at them one-by-one...

Effective People-Helping

You see, some folks are effective people-helpers and some aren't. It has nothing to do with education or experience. In fact, the people-helping skills of effective therapists are much more important than education or experience!

Here's the good news: Many studies definitively lay out what works in helping people and what doesn't. You can read the literature and find out what works. The you can do what works!

Here's the bad news: By and large, this information is not being taught!

You would expect that the findings of these studies would spread like wildfire in the therapeutic community, causing people to revise theories, dump worthless methods and go with what works. Guess again.

I have been unable to find a single counseling/therapy program that teaches the qualities of effective therapy based on these scientific findings. Do you know why? Because people invest heavily in their pet theories and techniques and don't want to let them go.

Techniques that enhance the power of effective people-helping qualities are highly important. Techniques that do not relate to those qualities are mostly a waste of time. Most people teaching hypnosis (or counseling) are unaware of what has been scientifically shown to be effective in helping people! That's why many hypnosis, counseling and other people-helping courses focus on the wrong things.

Influence

Many people (especially in the counseling arena) don't like the word "influence." But as people-helpers, it is our job to influence our clients - in the ways they desire. They come to us for change. Hypnotherapy is about helping subjects gain influence over themselves.

There are scientifically validated principles of influence. When these principles are utilized in conjunction with hypnosis they are even more powerful. Most hypnotherapy instructors have not studied influence. Most are unaware of principles and techniques that have been scientifically proven to create and enhance influence.
